Microwave Absorbers

Microwave Absorbers

Wavexorb advanced performance Microwave Absorber provide a means to reduce undesirable radiation that could interfere with electronic system operation or cause non-compliance. Available in a variety of material types and formulations, each material is designed to provide specific absorption characteristics. Wavexorb absorbers are formulated by combining silicone, nitrile, urethane, or foam matrix with magnetic and carbon filler materials. Available in sheet form, with or without pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA). 3G also fabricates wavexorb Microwave Absorbers into custom sizes, shapes, and configurations.

We provide premium microwave absorber that can effectively alleviate EMI gasket /RFI problems without the need for extra shielding. Our products are suited for sophisticated technologies such as automobile radar and commercial wireless applications. The absorbers we design can be utilized at greater frequencies than standard shielding. Our products can also be used in conjunction with other EMI/RFI shields to broaden the frequency range. Our engineers thrive on innovation and are open to any suggestion. While material quality and design are crucial, our team is able to appropriately address all difficulties that arise throughout the design phase which ensures a top-level consumer experience.

In-depth product knowledge and premium-quality products are what distinguish us from our competition. To absorb unwanted EMI/RFI and meet regulations without shielding, our microwave absorber can be simply mounted with pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA). These products are often directly installed onto high-frequency board-level components. We have a wide range of microwave absorbers to meet our customers’ varied needs.

RF Absorber Solutions

3G Shielding’s microwave absorber line is built to reduce unwanted RF energy, signal reflections, and interference inside demanding systems—often alleviating EMI/RFI problems without extra shielding.

Precision EMI/RFI Control

In real-world products, unwanted RF energy creates performance issues that are hard to diagnose, such as unstable readings, signal noise, or failed EMC tests. A properly selected RF absorber controls that energy before it starts causing expensive delays.

FAQs – RF Absorber

1What is an RF absorber and why would I need it?
An RF absorber is a material used to reduce unwanted RF energy, reflections, and noise inside electronic systems. If your device is experiencing interference, unstable signal behavior, or EMC failures, an absorber fixes problems that are often hard to trace with standard shielding.
2Where is an RF absorber usually used?
It is commonly placed inside enclosures, around high-frequency components, near antennas, and in microwave cavities. It is also essential in testing setups to reduce internal reflections and ensure cleaner sensor readings.
3Can RF absorbers help with EMI/RFI problems?
Yes, this is their primary function. They control stray RF energy and stabilize signals in compact electronics where interference builds up quickly between internal components.
4Do I need a specific type of absorber for my frequency?
Absolutely. Some materials are optimized for narrow frequency bands (Narrowband Tuned), while others handle cavity resonance. Choosing based on your actual operating frequency is vital for effective attenuation.
5How do I choose the right RF absorber?
The choice depends on your frequency range, available space, and thickness requirements. Because performance varies inside the actual enclosure, we recommend reaching out for engineering guidance to avoid multiple testing cycles.

Note: Most 3G absorbers are available with Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) for simplified mounting and rapid production integration.
